Ferro Concepts side plate pockets use a flexible thermoplastic, the CEC follows the contour of your cummerbund but is still stiff enough to provide enough support for the extra weight of the side plates. Its simple design allows full use of all elements of the Carry Elastic Cummerbund and gives users the ability to quickly remove the side armor on the fly without having to remove the cummerbund from the plate carrier.
